Hearing Before Seeing / Remembering

Sometimes you hear the shot before seeing the shot. I took some sunrise photos from Compromise Bridge in Annapolis this morning. At one point, I was concentrating on the Eastport side when I heard the sound of a boat heading out to the Chesapeake Bay. Before I ever got the boat in my viewfinder, I knew the potential shot about to be offered.

Whether it is vessels exploring the depths of our oceans or ones that launch into space, they are reminders. They let us remember one of humankind’s core elements – the desire to explore.
